As part of Refugee Week between the 15th & 17th June a team of residents, volunteers and staff from Abigail Housing will be ‘virtually’ climbing Erta Ale a volcanic mountain in north east Ethiopia. This is to symbolise the challenges and difficulties refugees face when they leave home to seek safety and sanctuary in the UK. We are asking people to donate a minimum of £2 to support the challenge. A big thank you to all our volunteers during volunteer week! Last night we had a zoom meeting with some of the volunteers with our Refugee Project in Leeds. During the Covid 19 crisis they have been helping with getting shopping and making an at least weekly support telephone call to the 60 refugees who are currently living in accommodation managed by Abigail Housing in Leeds.
