Housing Project Support Worker
We are seeking a dynamic individual and a first point of contact for the residents accommodated in our Leeds and Bradford services. The successful postholder will assist the Team Leader (Housing Management) and other members of the Abigail Housing team in delivering our accommodation and support services, ensuring the positive welfare of the residents is upheld. You will provide housing related support and assist residents with managing their Licence Agreements. You will be a team player, demonstrate a participatory working approach, be flexible to the needs of the charity and able to work on own initiative
This is an 18.5 hour post working accross Leeds and Bradford.

Trustee Opportunity
Abigail Housing’s Board of Trustees are seeking new members to join the charity’s governance team who share our vision of offering shelter to those fleeing persecution from abroad and particularly those facing homelessness and the injustice of destitution. The Trustees support the dedicated staff team to deliver the vital work of Abigail Housing, supporting destitute asylum seekers and homeless refugees seeking sanctuary in West Yorkshire.
What do we offer:
- Temporary accommodation and housing related support for destitute asylum seekers and homeless refugees in West Yorkshire
The Trustees are seeking:
- Dedicated and skilled individuals to support the staff team to deliver a unique service across Bradford and Leeds
- All applicants will be considered, but the Trustees have a particular interest in on-boarding new members with skills and experience in:
- Human resources
- Understanding of charity policies and procedures
- People with lived experience of the UK asylum system
- Housing legislation or experience of the housing sector
- Experience in the voluntary and community sector
What to expect:
- Virtual Board meetings every two months
- Attendance at an annual away day and the AGM
- Specific responsibilities within the Board may be explored, dependent on skills and experience
